Edgy advertising campaigns are everywhere lately. Companies want ads that will grab peoples attention, make them laugh and spark off a conversation about the ads themselves or the products that they’re trying to sell.

Unfortunately for Playtex Products (who are not to be confused with the Playtex underwear company), their edgy ad campaign for their new product “Fresh + Sexy Wipes” seems to have fallen flat on its face.

While the advertisers probably thought that these witty puns would encourage women to have a good laugh about their nether-regions, the ads have actually caused a bit of outrage online with many women feeling as though the ads encourage females to feel insecure about ‘down there’ and promote an unhealthy body image.
