The pope showed a very compassionate side
The head of the Catholic Church is being compared to St Frances of Assisi in Italian media, who according to holy legend, kissed a leper he encountered on the road after receiving a message from God.
A man suffering from neurofibromatosis, which causes growths, impaired vision and in some cases cancer, approached Pope Francis asking for help according to the Catholic News agency.
The pictures taken are very touching
Last week, Pope Francis allowed a little boy to remain on stage with him and cling to his leg during a speech in front of a crowd of 150,000.
Although the other priests on stage tried to persuade the boy to move away from the stage, the Pope seemed happy to interact with the child.
The images and video have gone viral with many people praising him for his kindness.
