Is it just us or are wedding proposals are getting more and more elaborate as the months go on? This guy put so much effort into popping the question to his girlfriend that we definitely think he deserves a gold star.
Ben Levi from Australia is so obsessed with the game Angry Birds that he decided to encorporate it into his proposal to his girlfriend of nine years, Melissa Swift. In fact, he contacted Rovio, the game’s software developer and spent several months creating a special level just for Melissa that would end with the words ‘Marry Me Mel.’
Melissa made no secret of the fact that she hated the game (and the fact that her boyfriend was glued to it 24/7) however we imagine her opinion has since changed.

The custom-made level designed specifically for Mel
“It took Angry Birds to finally get him to propose... I love them. Nothing else would motivate him, but Angry Birds did it, so I’m forever grateful,” said Melissa.
She explained that Ben is constantly glued to his computer playing the game and she often catches him having ‘secret’ games when they’re lying bed bed, watching telly or having dinner.
“We’d be out with friends like civilized people and you’ve got Angry Birds going on under the table,” said Melissa.

Melissa didn't realise that Ben's proposal was being filmed by Rovio
Melissa wasn’t surprised in the least when Ben asked her if she wanted to play the game while they were out having lunch together to celebrate moving in with each other.
Once Melissa reached level three of the game, the words: ‘MARRY ME MEL’ appeared on the screen.
“Oh no I’m going to die, I’m actually going to die,” Melissa can be heard saying in the clip.
The couple are set to get hitched next year and Ben has already joked about having an Angry Birds-themed wedding.
Rovio, the company behind the video game, arranged for a host of hidden cameras to be set up at the restaurant where Ben popped the question. Check out the clip below:
