A pub in Galway has come up with the perfect way to stop bathroom graffiti

Megan Roantree

Genius!

For some reason you’ll rarely see a public toilet wall without writing all over it.

From names to ‘inspirational’ quotes to crude drawings, people just love getting creative in bathroom stalls.

Some establishments embrace it and it becomes like wallpaper but others get a bit fed up of having to repaint the walls all the time.

The Salt House in Galway aren’t a fan of the bathroom graffiti art and so they came up with plan to combat it.

Posting on their Facebook page they said:

“So we had a little problem a wee while ago with people writing on the toilet doors but we think we have come up with a solution, what you think?”

The sign explains that instead of drawing on the walls and doors, customers should use the etch-a-sketch and the best pictures will be shared on Facebook.

The sign has only been us a few days but the staff has said that so far it’s working out.

One customer commented that “they’re now gonna write anywhere but the etch-a-sketch”

To which the Salt House replied “sadly that might be true man, hope not. I want to have faith in our craft lovers”

Only time will tell if this creative idea works.
