You’d think that a woman breastfeeding would be free of prying eyes and harsh comments but according to this video, we’re totally wrong.
New mother Jessie Maher in the U.S. was feeding her child when she was accosted by a rude, aggressive stranger.
According to Jessie, off camera, the man in question calls her breastfeeding “fucking disgusting” and “nasty” and asks her to “do that (breastfeeding) somewhere else”.
In the clip, terrified Jessie has her child feeding on her breast while the man angrily storms around the shop, asking for a refund and throws dirty looks at the panicked mother.
Luckily, employees from the store step in and tell him to calm down and back off, but it’s Jessie’s anxiety while holding the camera that is deeply upsetting to think about.
It’s a scary world we live in to think that a mother cannot feed her child in peace.
