A Woman Has Given Birth to Her Own Granddaughter

Tracey Thomspon, 54, from Texas, has given birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 6lbs. The child, named Kelcey, is biologically Tracey’s grandchild. Tracey offered to carry her daughter Kelley’s baby after years of miscarriage and infertility. The Medical Center of Plano says: “Kelley, age 28, and Aaron McKissack, age 33, had tried for three years to have a baby of their own. The couple attempted multiple infertility treatments and experienced three miscarriages. The last one ended in heartbreak on Christmas day 2014. However, the final round of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) did leave the couple with four remaining embryos”. Using advanced reproductive technology, doctors were able to implant and embryo in her womb. The Medical Center of Plato in Texas called the procedure a “miracle”. Dr Joseph Lebeno carried out the procedure. Even though Tracey was passed the menopause, she was more than happy to carry out the pregnancy. Daughter Kelley said: "My lovely mum gave me the best gift I could ever have in my life. "You have friends, and there are many women who are willing to do it.
