A 10-week-old black labrador pup was abandoned and tied to a tree in Sligo on St. Stephen's Day.
The pup, who has become now known as Indie, is in the temporary foster care while a good home is selected for him.
The adorable pup is one of many animals purchased over the holiday season, as the ISPCA highlight the dangers of impulse buying a pet.
Speaking to The Irish Independent before Christmas, PRO Carmel Murray explained: "Any pet takes time to adjust to its surroundings, Christmas while a joyful time can be hectic and with all the festive activity your new pet can be lost in the chaos."
It is a sad statistic but many animals are abandoned after the initial excitement and novelty wears off."If it is not an informed decision for all of the family, and for an unfortunate number of pets it can lead to them being unwanted," Carmel added.
We're just glad this little boy was found in time. What a dote.
