Abandoned dog with disfigured face gets re-homed for Christmas

Finally, some good news.

A Christmas miracle.

It’s around this time of the year that many families decide to adopt a puppy.

Maybe their children have been talking about getting a dog for a few months, so they decide that surprising the kids with a pup on Christmas morning would be a good idea.

However, when the festive season is all said and done, many of these dogs face abandonment or neglect.

It’s for this reason that many rescues are dubious about allowing families to adopt dogs in the run-up to Christmas.

Some even ban adoptions around this time to ensure that dogs are not returned after a few months when it becomes clear that people cannot look after them.

There is one dog, however, who is going to have a lovely Christmas thanks to the fact that he was adopted after being abandoned himself.

Woody is a dog from Tennesee.

He suffered an attack from another dog when he was just puppy, leaving him permanently disfigured because his family did not take him to the vet.

Woody was then abandoned by his family, chained to a fence, and left to fend for himself.

Special Needs Animal Rehabilitation and Rescue (SNARR) heard about Woody, picked him up, and brought him to New York.

They took to their Facebook page to try and find him a home in time for Christmas.

According to them, Woody has no health issues, is good with older children, and is very goofy.

However, Woody still needed a special home due to the violence he had suffered in the past.

And, thankfully, indy100 has reported that Woody has indeed found a special home just in time for Christmas.

Bless him.
