Abbeys, America and All Ireland Highlights: The Best of Tonight’s TV

After a gripping All-Ireland Final the only place to be tonight is on the couch with a steaming cup of tea. Here’s what we’ll be watching.

The Sunday Game – RTÉ Two (21:30 -23:05)

Des Cahill recaps on today’s All Ireland Football Final between Donegal and Mayo. The presenter also shows the highlights of this afternoon’s minor match between Dublin and Meath.

 

In America – RTÉ One (21:30 – 23:20)

An Irish family moves to America following the death of their son. However, life in New York city is not easy for them as the father desperately tries to find work as an actor. Directed by Jim Sheridan, this film stars Samantha Morton, Paddy Considine, Djimon Hounsou and Sarah Bolger.

 

Downton Abbey – ITV1 (21:00 – 22:05)

Downton Abbey continues tonight and the estate’s future hangs in the balance. Mary hopes to receive a bailout from her granny Martha, Mrs. Hughes hears worrying news and O’Brien tries to help her nephew land the footman job.

 

Grease – E4 (19:45 -22:00)

The classic musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John will cheer you up this Sunday evening. Rebellious teenager Danny falls in love with an innocent Australian girl who coincidently enrolls in his high school.

 

X Factor – TV3 (19:30 – 21:00)

Presented by Dermot O’Leary, the X Factor returns to our screens tonight as the hopefuls have one last chance to impress the judges at boot camp. Only 24 places remain as the judges prepare to narrow down their categories.
