Before we lose the run of ourselves over these Rebel Wilson/Adele rumours, the Hello singer is bringing us right back to earth.
Australian actress Rebel was said to be in talks to play the soul singer in a rags-to-riches style biopic, with a source telling the Daily Star:
"Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious actress.
"This is going to be a huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her popularity."
However, Adele herself has now quashed the rumours, noting that film producers would need to get her "f*cking permission".
She also didn't seem impressed that the casting was solely based on the fact that she is plus-sized.
She added:
"I’ve heard there are rumours about Rebel Wilson will be playing me in a movie – let’s see if that turns out to be true.
"Just because I’m plus-sized doesn’t mean she’s playing me."
