England’s first ever human-waste powered bus has literally done the business this week after it completed its first journey.
The bus, which is powered by treated sewage and food waste, has been branded the “bio-bus” and will run between Bristol and Bath.
The 40-seater bus boasts a 30 per cent reduction on carbon dioxide emissions. Don’t fear though, as there will not be any unwanted smells affecting your journey as all the impurities have been removed to leave the fuel “stink-free”.
“The bus clearly shows that human poo and our wasted food are valuable resources," said CEO of Anaerobic Digestion and Bio-resources Association Charlotte Morton.
