If you were on O’Connell Street this morning you may have seen a half-naked woman lying in the foetal position on a plate of food.
The protest was an attempt to implore people to consider what is on their plate.
Protestor Grace spoke to 98fm Dublin Talks with Adrian and Jeremy this morning (live from the plate).
“In the run up to Christmas all the poor turkeys and chickens are going to be slaughtered. It’s to bring awareness to people and for them to think about going vegetarian or vegan.”
“People have been concerned for my welfare. Other people have been applauding, some people think it’s a step too far,” says Grace.
When probed she reveals it’s not a step too far but it’s needed to grab people’s attention.
The campaign, run with Peta has provoked some strong reactions.
“Do these people seriously still exist?” text in one listener.
One caller thinks the campaign is an insult to the intelligence of the population and she calls Grace a tree-hugger.
