Laois swimmer Nicole Turner has qualified for yet another final by booking a spot in this evening’s 50m Freestyle final – her fourth final in as many days.

She swam yet another lifetime best on Thursday morning to place fourth and qualify for the final, following on from her performance in the butterfly final on Wednesday evening where she placed sixth.

Yesterday evening, the gold medal was scooped by reigning Paralympic champion and world record holder Oskana Khrul of Ukraine in a time of 37.33, with Tiffany Thomas Kane second in 38.17, and Dong Lu of China taking bronze in 38.46.

Earlier on in the week, she achieved fifth and sixth placings in the 100m breaststroke (SB6 class) and 400m freestyle (S6 class) respectively.

“I’m feeling great, I’m really enjoying the competition; to make finals every day so far and PB in each of them!” she said.
