Your sexual "number" is a subject of great debate and curiosity when it comes to dating. While we are firm believers that whatever is right for you is right full stop, comparing numbers is an inevitable part of dating discourse. It's like the Goldilocks tale - we try to decipher what's too few, what's too many, and what's just right. Well a recent survey attempted to do just that, and asked respondents what they feel is the perfect number of sexual partners to have before settling down with "the one". The ideal number is supposedly ten. Extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com, polled over 1,000 people to glean the results, and found that 37 per cent of respondents, both male and female, thought that between 8 and 12 was the perfect amount. The next most popular magic number was 6, followed by less than four. Less than fifteen per cent of people wanted a new partner to have slept with more than eleven people. We would of course take the results with a pinch of salt, but still, it could make an interesting conversation topic on your next date!
