There’s nothing better than a good giggle but did you know that your laugh actually tells a lot about the type of person you are?
Believe it or not but we all have our own individual style of laughter. Like fingerprints, our laughs reflect our personality and express our moods. We also have different laughs depending on how we feel at any given time. This is why your laughter changes when you’re happy, hyper or super-excited about something.
However, while laughs are an individual thing some new research has found that there are signature sounds that can actually reflect the type of personality we have.
In a highly scientific study, researchers divided laughs into categories and asked a body language and behaviour expert to outline what each one means.
The study, which was commissioned by winemakers Lambrini, dicscovered that a wheezy laugh signifies a good-humoured person whereas a loud, theatrical laughs means you’re sociable and fun.
So what does your laugh say about you? Read on and find out...

Your laugh is something that is completely unique to you
The Wheezy Laugh:
If your laugh sounds a little breathless and wheezy it means that you’re used to keeping quiet. Do you work in a career where you’re expected to be silent? Wheezy laughers normally have a great sense of humour but they can be a little timid and shy.
The Cackle:
If your laugh sounds a bit like a cackle it means that you have trouble relating to other people. People with this kind of laugh usually feel uncomfortable in large groups and much prefer the company of a few close friends. They’re highly polite and enjoy laughing but only with people they know well.
The Theatrical Laugh
Is your laugh completely contagious? Do people tend to laugh at your laugh rather than the joke itself? A loud, bawdy laugh means that you’re an absolute riot when you let your guard down and allow yourself to enjoy a good chuckle. People who have this kind of laugh are usually fun, sociable and down-to-earth qualities. Our girl Sue has this kind of laugh (she laughed and then we all rolled around the place in stitches).

Are you a giggler or a theatrical kind of laugh?
The Giggle:
According to research this kind of laugh is something that we develop in childhood but never really give up as we get older. People who giggle generally enjoy getting up to a bit of divilment and have a very mischievous sense of humour.
The Over-The-Top Laugh:
If your laugh is loud and shrill then chances are you’re a complete individual. You enjoy striking out on your own and expressing yourself, even if it doesn’t conform to what others would like. You’re likely to be confident, opinionated and sure of yourself.
