The average cost of a wedding in Ireland is very, very steep

It’ll probably take you a pretty long time to save up that kind of money.

Whether you’re about to get married, just got engaged, or are just having a nose at what loves up people pay for a wedding, then you might be in with a surprise.

We all know a lot goes into planning a wedding – but just how much does one cost in Ireland?

Confetti Magazine conducted its annual Irish Wedding Survey recently and found that the number couples usually pay for a wedding here is €25,000.

Are you surprised? Yes? No, not really?

According to the survey, 35 percent of couples admitted to going over the 25 grand, with 44 percent saying they paid for their wedding entirely on their own.

It all adds up, however, with the biggest chunk of any budget going on the venue. The average cost for a wedding venue in Ireland is currently €12,258.

Wedding Preparation

Wedding photographers and videographers cost €1,615 and €1,207 respectively, while engagement rings take another big hit to the budget coming in at €4,190.

On average, the bride’s wedding dress cost €1,697, while the groom’s suit comes in at one grand less at €697.

Other important numbers are the average amount of wedding guests in Ireland comes in at 170, while it took around 20 months for each couple to plan their wedding.

It ain’t easy, huh?
