Axed Show “Ripper Street” to Return for Third Season

Looks like BBC One crime drama Ripper Street will be returning to our screens!

Bord Scannán na hÉireann and Element Pictures confirmed that the axed period crime show is to return, with Amazon Prime Instant Video (LoveFilm), striking a deal to revive the series.

“This is very good news for the Irish film and television industry” said James Hickey, Chief Executive Bord Scannán na hÉireann.

“Ripper Street has benefited from the Irish Film Board’s International Production Fund which aims to attract major TV and film projects to film on location in Ireland with Irish cast and crew.

Ripper Street is a perfect example of a series which has showcased Irish actors, the excellent work of Irish crew and Ireland as a film location to audiences all over the world.”

Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg,the new series that focuses on the infamous Jack the Ripper will be once again filmed in Ireland.

The third season is to debut on Amazon Prime Instant Video before airing on BBC One.
