Balloons To Heaven: One Little Girl’s Special Birthday Wish To Her Brother

We’ll admit it: reading this story made us all get a little emotional and a tad bit teary-eyed. If anything, it just goes to show how love survives, even if someone is no longer with us.

Imgur user Rokzo posted the following two images on the popular photo-sharing website. Apparently Rokzo was out walking near a friend’s house when he came across these balloons with a note tied to them. Check it out:

Just in case you’re struggling to read it, here’s what the letter says:

“To my dear brother Adam:

I’m sending you this birthday wish from here, on earth. Knowing that this balloon and note of birthday wishes and love will reach to you in heaven with God and the angels up above. They will see to it that you get this.

I hope your [sic] being celebrated up there in the way you most deserve on your birthday with loved ones that we miss and friends you have made along the way in your journey to the up above.

I am just so sorry that we can’t be with you on this day. We are with you always and forever in our hearts.

I love you Adam. You were a good person and brother. Your family knows this.

Love always

Your sister

Jenny.”

Unsurprisingly the letter has moved a lot of people and sparked some major heartfelt comments on Imgur.

“I’m not a smart man Jenny... but I know what love is. And you loved your brother Adam deeply,” said one user.

“This is heartbreaking,” said another.

Judging from the handwriting on the letter we imagine that Jenny is only a child. This picture definitely made a few Her.ie staffers well up. We think ‘cute’ and ‘positively heartbreaking’ are the phrases that sum this up just right.
