If you’re not painting the town red tonight, why not buy in the Malteasers and sit down for a night of family entertainment?
Total Wipeout – BBC One (5:30pm)
One for all ages, the game show sees men and women battle against an obstacle course and each other to take away the cash prize. Not even co-host Amanda Byram can keep a straight face watching the action unfold.

Take Me Out – UTV (7:00pm)
Let the bum see the sofa because Paddy McGuiness’ Take Me Out is back! A postman, a personal trainer, a musician and a student are the four men hoping to win over at least one of the 30 single ladies this evening. Fingers crossed there are no blackouts!

X Factor – TV3 (8:00pm)
It’s the first of the live finals tonight. The 13 finalists will be hoping to wow the judges and the viewers with their performances so that they make it through to next week. Expect lots of songs and lots of ad breaks.

Panic Room – Channel 4 (10:35pm)
Jodie Foster and a very young Kristen Stewart star in this thriller about a mother and daughter hiding in a panic room when burglars break into their house. The plot thickens when the thieves refuse to leave. One to enjoy with a bowl of popcorn, we think!

Live at the Apollo – RTÉ Two (23.05pm)
In the first of the new series, Sean Lock introduces the popular comic John Bishop to the Hammersmith Apollo. Send the little ones to bed and sit down with your other half for a good old laugh.

The Digital Switchover is coming, for all you need to know before October 24th, check out DigitalSwitch.ie
