Beef Alert: McDonalds Just Threw Serious Shade At Burger King

We kinda feel sorry for Burger King.

Britney and Christina, Coke and Pepsi, Marvel and DC… famous rivalries that split people cleanly down the middle.

However, the McDonalds vs. Burger King dilemma has always been somewhat of a grey area – namely we just CAN’T decide.

So we were pretty excited this week when Burger King suggested that the two franchises join forces in order to create the ultimate burger – the McWhopper.

Burger King suggested that the McWhopper, a delightful hybrid between the Big Mac and the Whopper,  be served on National Peace Day in the states to raise awareness of the day of cease-fire.

However, CEO of McDonalds, Steve Easterbrook, was not too impressed with the offer, and extended a curt reply on Facebook.

In the post, Steve sassily suggests that the fast food giants could do something “bigger” and more “meaningful”, reminding Burger King that their “friendly business competition” should not be compared to “the real pain and suffering of war”.

The final serving of shade comes in the last line, “P.S. A simple phone call will do next time”.

Ouch.

Is it wrong that we’re really disappointed we may never get to taste the McWhopper?
