Crisp Sandwich Café To Open In Belfast This Monday

A roadtrip to Belfast is on the cards...

Cathy Donohue

If you’re partial to a good crisp sandwich (we’re all about fluffy bread, real butter and Tayto/King/whatever your preference), you might have to visit Belfast’s Simply Crispy.

The café is set to open this Monday, at No.8, Bedford Street, Belfast, and we’re already planning a road trip.

This new eatery, offering both classic and contemporary crisp sandwiches, became a reality when satirical website The Ulster Fry published a tongue-in-cheek piece about a café that would sell crisp sandwiches.

Little did Billy McWilliams and Seamus O’Shea know that a café owner would see the piece and offer up his premises to make the idea a reality.

“A nice young man who owns a café in Belfast city centre loved the idea so much, he wanted to partner with us to convert his premises into Simply Crispy, and bring the idea to life.

“And so, The Ulster Fry, exactly 27 days after we launched our parody news website, have accidentally got involved with a cafe, selling crisps, inside bread. Which is a perfectly sensible sentence really.”

Now we’re off to make a crisp sandwich…

H/T to our lovely JOE.ie bros for this one
