Put these dates in the calendar, a gin festival is coming to Galway

This will be so much craic.

YAY.

In news that just improved Wednesday ten million times, a gin festival is coming to Galway for four days.

From Thursday 30th March to Sunday 2nd April, Galway’s Latin Quarter will play host to ‘gin-fest’.

They’re taking it very seriously too with a range of activities to choose from over the four day period including masterclasses and tastings, gin afternoon tea, gin trails, food & gin pairings, gin cocktails & competitions, blind tastings, new gin launches and even gin & reels music sessions.

That is a LOT of gin.

The Latin Quarter Committee had this to say on the subject:

“Galway is renowned as the city of festivals, so adding Gin Fest to the programme of events is another fantastic celebration for locals and visitors to the city to savour. In the past year, bars across the country have seen such a surge in the popularity and demand for gin so we want to create a festival that brings people together from the master distillers to those who enjoy drinking gin.

“It’s the first year of the festival and we hope it will become an annual event thanks to the support of our festival partners Diageo, Edward Dillon, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard and Richmond Marketing”.

The aim of the festival is to showcase as many gin brands as possible, both Irish and international while also learning the perfect garnishes and tonics to accompany your favourite gin.

It’s also an excuse to grab your gals and indulge in some gin cocktails, Galway will be buzzing that weekend!
