Irish champion Katie Taylor is gearing up for a big match Sunday morning when she will step into the ring against China’s Junhua Yin in the World Championship semi-finals.
Katie secured a spot in the semis after her quarter-final bout against world number two Sofya Ochigava on Friday morning did not go ahead as the Russian did not show up at the weigh-in.
With the extra day’s rest behind her, Katie’s fans are hoping that she will be more than ready to see off the challenge from Yin – who is ranked fourth in the world.
Earlier this week, Katie saw off the challenges of Valeria Spicer and Mira Potkonen. The Irish boxer will be hoping to secure a win on Sunday as she continues on the path to hopefully securing her fifth World Championship title.
Boxing gets underway in Jeju from 5am (Irish time) on Sunday morning. Katie is scheduled to be the fifth fight of the day, and should be in the ring between 5.30am and 6am.
