Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Announces An Evening With Colonel Chris Hadfield

We cannot wait - this promises to be incredible.

Bord Gáis Energy Theatre have today announced ‘An Evening with Colonel Chris Hadfield’, a one-night-only event featuring a 90 minute presentation by the world-famous astronaut.

Featuring rarely seen videos from Chris Hadfield’s personal collection, guests should “prepare to be mesmerised by the beauty of our planet as seen from a bird’s eye”. The highly educational and inspirational presentation from an international icon will also feature Chris’ rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”.

During his five month stay on the International Space Station, Hadfield became “an extra-planetary media star”. As well as regularly sharing incredible photos, he tweeted famous faces from Queen Elizabeth to  William Shatner, talked to school children, strummed his guitar and provided demonstration videos about daily life on the gravity free station.

On his last day on the ISS, he posted a farewell music video online – a reworking of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”.  It exploded and went viral, garnering millions of views in its first hours alone.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Chris Hadfield has done an “absolutely remarkable job as the first Canadian commander of the International Space Station and has brought the miracle of space travel home to Canadians and the entire world. Chris Hadfield has published two books, “An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth” and “You are Here”.

Tickets from €25 go on sale this Friday 14 August through Ticketmaster.
