A young boy in Ohio has found a new way of fighting his brain tumour and it all comes down to his favourite sports team.
Grant Reed is a huge Ohio State fan which means he isn’t too keen on their bitter rivals Michigan and loves when his team beat them (think Dublin and Kerry or Manchester United and Manchester City).
It is for that reason that the brave 12-year-old has decided to name his brain tumour ‘Michigan.’
And the technique already seems to be working as Grant, along with his parents Troy and Denise, received the good news this week that he is beating ‘Michigan’ and the disease is in regression.
As careful as they are being not to get ahead of themselves, as the disease could come back, they are over the moon about this victory and they’re not the only ones.
A number of OSU players and Jerod Smalley, Sports Director at NBC4 Columbus, tweeted about the inspirational story.
Hat-tip to Bleacher Report and JOE.ie for the story.

One of the tweets of support for Grant.
