Donal Walsh’s name has been on the tip of everybody’s tongue since his heartfelt story appeared in the Irish Independent last week.
Kerry teenager Donal wrote honestly about his third battle with cancer in four years. He has already undergone two treatments but, despite him being fit and healthy, the cancer has reappeared and has now moved to his lung. Donal wrote about accepting the fact that chemotherapy wasn’t strong enough to kill the cancer this time.
Donal’s story and optimistic nature touched hearts around the country and, now it seems, the world.
All-Blacks legend Dan Carter has sent Donal a message of support, letting the 16-year-old know that he has tried to call his phone and he wishes him all the best.
The rugby star had heard Donal would love to visit New Zealand and left him the message of goodwill on social media network Twitter.
