There’s nothing better than a heart-warming, positive news story and we’ll admit that we’re brimming with inspiration after watching the above video about Tim Harris.
Tim is a Special Olympian and he’s also the only man in America with Down Syndrome who owns his own restaurant. Ever since Tim was little, he wanted to open a restaurant and with the help of his parents, he was finally able to realise his dream.
Tim’s restaurant (called ‘Tim’s Place’) has become a resounding success, probably due to the establishment’s policy which is: “Breakfast, lunch and hugs.” Tim goes out of his way to make his guests feel at home and this has earned his place the title of “the world’s friendliest restaurant.”
Despite the fact that Tim’s day starts at 5.30am, he loves his job so much that he does a dance in the parking lot before he goes in. You can pratically feel the happiness emanating from him.
Apart from being a major success in the culinary industry, Tim’s also a Special Olympic Athlete who has won a massive amount of medals over the past few years.
“What he’s accomplished in his lifetime, [some] people can only dream of,” says Tim’s brother.
We think that’s a pretty fair observation to make. Tim is an absolute legend and we admire his drive, determination and friendliness.
