An American newsreader was taken by surprise when the final story of her broadcast involved her own engagement.
Jillian Pavlica, a news anchor for Fox54 in the States, had no idea what was happening until she realised that her fiancé had hijacked the studio’s autocue machine.
During a live broadcast, Jillian started to read the script but stopped when she got to the line: “We have some breaking news to report to you, Fox54 has just learned that a Huntsville news anchor is being proposed to on live TV right now.”
Jillian’s co-presenters left her side and her fiancé, Vince, walked on screen and got down on one knee.
Before the segment, the news producer told Jillian that there was some breaking news that she had to read out on air. She said that she had written the script and entered it into the autocue and that all Jillian had to do was read it.
