Four of Dublin’s most popular bars could be taken over by British pub chain, Wetherspoons.
Café en Seine, Howl at the Moon, The Dragon and The George are all on the company radar, with all four pubs available for purchase for a combined price of £12 million or can be bought separately.
The Sunday Independent reports that Wetherspoons are interested in opening 30 pubs in the Republic of Ireland over the coming years.
The George and The Dragon which are located on South Great Georges Street, along with Cafe en Seine, are already on the market for approximately €3.5m each, on the joint instructions of receiver Pearse Farrell of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks and the O'Dwyers.
Howl at the Moon has a price of €1.5m.
They will be making their first foray into the Irish market next month with the opening of a Blackrock pub in Dublin on July 7th.
Over 1300 pubs have closed their doors in Ireland in the past year.
