We can’t afford a house, but we might be able to afford an island.
Just think about it; your own private island to do whatever you want. Sure, you might have to travel across the sea to get a pint of milk, but you also have the very-tempting situation of nobody bothering you. Ever.
Whether you like the sound of that or not, there’s an island off the coast of Cork for sale and it’s going for €150,000 which we think is a rather great price.
You could buy two or three of these islands for the same price as one house in Dublin.
The 4 acre island is called Mannion’s Island and it’s located in Dunmanus Bay, West Cork.
According to Coastal Homes, “it’s within 200 metres of the foreshore and just a few minutes from the newly constructed pier, which is 5 minutes walking distance from Durrus village.
“The island is approximately 60 percent fertile with this area south facing with a small sheltered cove to the east of the island.
“There is no house, building, structure or ruin on the island,” but sure you could build one yourself, right?
