What do you think Dublin needs more of? What do like best about Dublin? And who's your Dublin hero? Some Irish celebrities get together and tell us what their favourite bits of the Fair City are in a new Dublin tourism guide.
The guide is to help tourists, travellers, and even some of the locals, find the must-go-to places, the best places to eat and the greatest things to do. Readers can be inspired by our capital's celebs' favourite aspects of the city.
Former Miss World Rosanna Davison told the 'Hot Press' guide her Dublin hero is, “...each and every individual who works hard to make Dublin the wonderful city it is today.” Looks like the all-gracious Miss World training is still instilled into her mind...
She also said her choice of Dublin music is that played by “the buskers and musicians on Grafton Street.”
The blonde said she shops in H&M, Penneys and Zara for the basics, and trips to Coco Boutique or Atelier for something a bit more glam.
Fade Street personality Louise Johnston said her favourite outdoors place is Phoenix Park and one of her favourite buildings is the Lafayette Building on Westmoreland Street.
Johnston may have found it difficult to express herself as she said; “I love that Dublin is a small and intimate city. Everyone knows everyone-no other first world capital city can claim that.” We don't understand the reference to a 'first-world country' but we think we know what she means...?
Model Danielle Moyles is guarding her turf, saying she thinks the city needs “less models”.
The guide also includes guest restaurant 'critic' Shane MacGowan reveal his top 10 Dublin restaurants, Rachel Allen gives her advice on how to make a perfect Dublin picnic and Kathryn Thmas describes her perfect day in the capital.
Niall Stokes of 'Hot Press' told The Irish Sun 'The Best of Dublin' is an invaluable guide.
“Dublin is rocking. That's what 'The Best Of Dublin' aims to celebrate.”
'Best of Dublin' is being released onto shop shelves today for €3.95.
