To mark the upcoming UL Open Day on Friday January 16th, we’re bringing you seven of the best places to spend time as a student in Limerick.

Whether it’s a great live show, a concert or comedy gig, we’ve got you covered. Here are seven of the best student hotspots in Limerick…

1. The Stables

The Stables is at the heart of UL campus and it’s the legendary centre point of student life. From lunch between lectures, to packed out gigs, it’s the perfect place to go with pals.

2. Dolans Warehouse

Dolans is hands down the best place in Limerick to go to a music or comedy gig. Keep up to speed on all of the upcoming shows here.

3. Angel Lane

Fancy hitting the dancefloor? This is one of the biggest student venues in Limerick – prepare to dance the night away to some awesome tunes.

4. The Locke Bar and Restaurant

As soon as summer comes around, the Locke is heaving with people out enjoying the sunshine. Overlooking the river Shannon and in the heart of the city, it’s a great spot to go and chill out with friends.

5. Nancy Blakes

You’re guaranteed a good night in Nancy Blake’s. It’s home to brilliant  live gigs, a great atmosphere and an even better crowd.

6. Big Top at the Milk Market

The Big Top at the Milk Market has fast become Limerick’s best music venue. It has played host to major national and international acts including Kasabian and Imelda May. Keep an eye on what’s coming up here.

7. The Library Bar

It’s not known as the loudest library in the world for nothing! The Library has seen DJs like JJ Hartigan and 2FM’s Jenny Green on the decks. This is easily one of the best student venues in the city.
