Comedienne Katherine Lynch revealed that she relies on her multiple personalities when it comes to interviewing celebrities.
The funny woman, who hails from County Leitrim, revealed that in actual fact she is quite shy when she is not in character.
The actress is preparing for her return to television next week this time as country singer Bernie Walsh.
Speaking to The Irish Sun, she said: “It’s like the Mrs Merton effect. I read [Caroline Ahern] is shy and quiet behind it all and I’d be too shy to say those things myself too.
“The characters are great ammunition, a great defense and a great suit of armour so I’m not sure I could let it go that much."

Brian Dowling will be joining Katherine on her new show
The actress will be joined by Big Brother legend Brian Dowling on her new programme Katherine Lynch’s Big Fat Breakfast Show where she will be interviewing celebrities including Jodie Marsh, Amy Childs and Denise Welch.
Katherine revealed that would love to land some bigger names in the future.
Of course I’d love to see Colin Farrell on the couch. You know who I’d really love to interview? Gerry Adams because I think he’d be a bit of craic. Bernie Walsh would like to tickle his funny bone and get down and social,” Katherine told TV Now magazine.
The actress is also preparing for the launch of her Christmas album, which will feature the song Raglan Road.
“My dad passed away and I split up from my boyfriend in the same month. I did it as an affair of the heart,” she finished.
