Is there anything lovelier than a couple in their sixties, seventies, eighties or beyond who still act like love-struck teenagers?

We all know an older couple whose relationship serves as a bit of inspiration for us younger folks and now an Irish travel company wants treat a pair of lovebirds to a trip away.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Golden Ireland is searching for Ireland’s most romantic older couple.

“There are couples out there who have celebrated everything from ruby, to silver and golden, not to mention diamond wedding anniversaries, and we want to know the secret of their success!,” says Golden Ireland’s Geraldine McGlynn

“Is it the small thoughtful gestures, the long lasting friendship, a person who can make you laugh, and who is always there for you through thick and thin?”

People aged sixty and over are invited to submit a story, poem or photo and explain why their loved one means the world to them.

Family and friends are also welcome to nominate an older couple they think deserves the title of ‘Ireland’s most romantic older couple’, so why not put someone you love forward for the accolade?

The best entries will be shared on the company’s website while the overall winning couple will win a two night stay in an executive room in the four star Rose Hotel in Tralee, County Kerry with breakfast each morning and dinner on both nights in The Park Restaurant.
