Congrats, You’re A “Celebrity”… The Ten Signs That Say You’ve Made It

What constitutes a celebrity nowadays? Is it somebody with talent, somebody with good looks, a good agent or just somebody who overshares on Twitter?

Whatever the correct modern definition of a celebrity is, one thing is clear now, absolutely anybody can become "a celebrity".

So, let's get this show on the road. Start Instagramming, Tweeting, posing and gossiping to your hearts content and if you can tick off at least five of these on the list, you know you've made it...

1. The Blue Tick

Your Twitter handle has a blue tick beside it. This means that you have so many followers that you are now a CELEBRITY. And don't bother buying your followers, people know when you've done that...

2. The Column

Wow, you've made it. You can officially smooze and booze wiht the big guys, you have your very own column in a red-top. Bear in mind, tabs generally only take on columnists with reality TV experience and a tendency to bitch a lot. Maybe you should take back everything you've ever said about Big Brother and apply for it...

3. The Entourage

So, you have an entourage now? Eight to ten people who follow you around intimidating anyone who dares step within twenty feet of you. Hollywood, here you come...

4. The Question

Every celeb knows The Question and where it can get them in life. "Don't you know who I am?". If you ask The Question, be warned the person you are asking may begin to panic and sweat profusely because, in fairness, they should really know who you are.

5. The Guest List

If you're a celebrity you'll always be on the guest list. Turn up fashionably late, smile for the paps and remember to keep your legs together leaving the car. You don't want to pull a Hathaway...

6. The Taylor Swift Link

Male or female, you're "a celebrity" if you're linked in any way (romantically or not) to Taylor Swift.

7. The Catchphrase

You've made it when your catchphrase BECOMES you. Let the twinkies see the pinkies...

8. The Goat Trend

You can kick back and relax if anything you've ever done (a song, dance, show) has been replaced by some avid YouTuber with a goat screeching. If you've been under a rock for the past month, watch this:

9. The Tell-All Interview

You're a household name when Ellen or Oprah or likewise asks you for the spill-all chat on the couch. Use this as your opportunity to hit the gossip headlines. For example jump on the couch á la Tom Cruise or spill some saucy deets á la RiRi....

10. The Rumour Mill

When the rumour mill starts churning and you're at the centre of it, you can take a deep breath because, yes, you've made it. Pregnant? Nay... Engaged? No way... But they're not to know that, let them talk about you...
