We’re not going to lie, after the cliffhanger that was the final episode of Love/Hate season three, we had some serious fears about what was going to happen in the next series. However, our minds have been eased by the news that Nidge and co. are all set to return in the next season of the gritty gangland drama.
The Irish Daily Star reports that producers of the show have confirmed that the main members of the cast are all set to reprise their roles in the fourth series of the show, which is set to air on Irish television this autumn.
But one familiar face will be missing: Robert Sheehan, who plays Darren, will not be returning. Although we had sort of figured that one out ourselves when he got shot in the last episode of the show. (We’re genuinely heartbroken that he won’t be coming back. Sad face!).
Filming for the next six episodes of the show has already started in the greater Dublin area and the cast and crew have been sworn to secrecy about the new storyline.

Nidge will return as the main man in Love/Hate season four
Nidge, Tommy, Fran, Trish, Siobhan and Elmo will all return for the next series but a spokesperson for RTE’s hit show refused to confirm or deny any additional characters.
Emmett J Scanlan, an Irish actor who plays Brendan in Hollyoaks, has been tipped to take up a role in Love/Hate after he expressed a strong interest to join the cast.
“I’d love to be part of it – any hungry actor with a half a mind would want to,” said Emmett.
The last episode of Love/Hate attracted a whopping one million viewers in December. With figures like that, we imagine the pressure is on for the cast and crew to deliver a spectacular season four although if anyone can pull it off, it’ll be them.
