Cork And Galway Dominate 2015 Camogie All-Star Awards
All-Ireland champions Cork and All-Ireland finalists Galway unsurprisingly dominated this year’s All-Stars camogie awards.
The sides took seven spots each on this year’s selection which was presented by Brent Pope and Camogie Association President Catherine Neary at an awards ceremony at Citywest on Saturday night.
Cork’s Gemma O’Connor – who picked up her ninth All-Star award on the night – was also awarded the inaugural Camogie Association/WGPA Senior Players’ Player of the Year, with Patricia Jackman of Waterford taking home the Intermediate award and Carlow’s Katie Nolan bagging the Junior Players’ Player of the Year award.
For Cork it was Aoife Murray, Pamela Mackey, Rena Buckley, Gemma O’Connor, Ashling Thompson, Orla Cotter and Briege Corkery who made the All-Star selection, while Galway’s Sarah Dervan, Heather Cooney, Lorraine Ryan, Niamh Kilkenny, Niamh McGrath, Molly Dunne and Ailish O’Reilly also took home the prized accolade.
The awards didn’t stop there for Cork as manager Paudie Murray was also named the Lberty Insurance Manager of the Year.
The 2015 Soaring Stars at Junior and Intermediate level were also awarded on the night.
