Cork Woman Takes On Tough Challenge for Childline Charity

Major kudos to Sinead Kane.

Cork woman Sinead Kane is taking on a major challenge this year, in support of Childline.

Sinead, who is legally blind with only 5% visual capability, has pledged to run the Dublin City Marathon on October 27th.

While this would be a difficult task for anyone, it’s a mammoth task for the young solicitor.

As the Cork native points out in her personal message, which can be read in full here, running a marathon is difficult at any time but imagine doing so “when you can’t see where you are going”.

The video below shows Sinead in training with a running guide and the difficulties she has encountered as she takes on this incredible task.

After volunteering with the charity for six and a half years, Sinead decided to do something special when she learned there had been a drop in funding for this vital service.

Childline is Ireland’s only 24 hour listening service for children up to 18 years of age. It is free, nationwide and available 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
