Facebook is constantly evolving and recently, the social networking site secured a new patent that could mean big changes.
The completely new technology is a game changer because if implemented, it may allow banks to look at the credit ratings of your Facebook friends as well as your personal credit history.
The Next Web reports that financial institutions could potentially look at the credit ratings of your friends before deciding on a ‘credit worthy’ average.

If your Facebook friends don’t meet the required average, then you could be refused the loan.
The social media giant has not yet commented on the news and it’s not yet evident if the technology will be put into practice.
In addition, the patent would also help the company to improve the site’s search facility, filter offensive content and restrict spam, all of which is welcome news.
