You couldn’t make it up.

Brendan Davies and Emma Langley, who live in Somerset, welcomed a baby daughter in December and named her Harlow Star.

At the time, the couple had no idea that they were actually naming her after one of Essex’s local newspapers, with Essex an estimated 200 miles away from their home.

However, it turns out that they had, unbeknownst to them, given their third child a name that coincides with one of Essex’s major publications.

Not long after Harlow’s birth on December 21 (2017), people began remarking on the name and how they hadn’t heard it before and it was then that the couple discovered the connection.

Speaking to Essex Live, Brendan said:

“I did have a comment on Christmas Day from my brother-in-law who asked me if she was conceived in Harlow, Essex, which was a funny comment as we had never heard of the place”.

The couple chose Harlow because they liked the characteristics of the name, including freedom-loving and adventurous but Star was chosen for a very special reason, to represent their loved ones who are no longer with them.

Although it was after naming Harlow, they realised the other reference this moniker holds but at this point, they were so delighted with their choice that it didn’t really matter.

We think it’s just adorable too.
