Cuteness Alert: Dublin Zoo Welcomes Two Baby Meerkats!

Last week we brought you a gallery of incredible animals from Dublin Zoo and today we are treating you to another visual extravaganza. When we say we, we actually mean Dublin Zoo and when we say visual extravaganza, we actually mean something so cute your heart might actually melt!

The zoo has just announced the arrival of two baby meerkats. Yes, two baby meerkats and they are even more adorable than they sound.

The pups were born back in July but so far the parents have kept them protected which means viewers are only catching a glimpse of them now. But they are certainly worth the wait!

The two baby meerkats were born at the start of the summer.

The parents have been protecting them from threats and predators so far.

Team leader Eddie O’Brien expressed everybody’s joy at the new additions: “We are delighted with the arrival of the pups. It has been some time since meerkats were born at the Zoo so these are welcome additions. We think the youngsters are female.”

He also added, “Both pups are doing very well. They are still feeding from their mother and recently they have also started eating solids. As carnivores they eat meat and insects.”
