In a tale that can do nothing but inspire, a man who has been diagnosed with brain cancer has won a marathon in Texas... after he pushed his daughter the whole way in a buggy.
Iram Leon ran with his daughter for over 26 miles and even had the grace to say that he had actually come second in the race, in behind his 6-year-old girl, Kiana. He ran the marathon in an impressive three hours and seven minutes.
Now 32, Iram was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Diffuse Astrocytoma in November 2010 shortly after his 30th birthday.
"This is supposed to eat away at my memory in the end," Iram Leon said of the cancer in his left temporal lobe. "But I hope this memory is one of the last things to go and one she never loses."
He said his doctors have told him, "We're probably not going to beat this. We're just hoping to get you to 40."
Iram's mission is to spend more time with his daughter, and has vowed to include her in one of his favourite pastimes, running.
He completed his first half marathon in October last year, but on Saturday he really made people stand up and take notice when he came home first in the Gusher Marathon in Texas.
Now how's that to inspire you...?
