This is what Christmas is all about.
Many argue that the true spirit and meaning of Christmas has been lost on millennials and the younger generation, but this story proves otherwise.
Kids from Scoil Bhride & Holy Trinity in Donaghmede have come together to help Dublin’s homeless.
Children from the school, aged between 6 and 9, organised cards with special handwritten messages.
A message from an 8-year-old by the name of Luke reads: ‘Dear Friend, Merry Christmas… Sorry for all the cold you have been through all the winters [sic]”.
Her.ie reader Martina Kenny collects gifts every year, gathering together a few presents in boxes to give to the less fortunate.
Martina’s nephew attends the Donaghmede Primary School, and along with Facebook group ‘You’re Not Alone‘, she will distribute the handmade cards and gifts to homeless on Dame Street.
“Friends family customers & strangers have been dropping stuff to me. The support for our homeless has been amazing”, Martina said.
“Try to find some warm”.
Thank you to Martina Kenny for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
