This Tim Burton fantasy sees a teenage girl enter into a fantastical world and learn about her true destiny. As if that’s not appealing enough, Johnny Depp is one of the leads.

The Zoo Christmas Special – RTÉ Two (8.00pm)
Tom Dunne visits Santa’s grotto at Dublin Zoo to find out about the keepers’ favourite memories. You can also expect to see quite a few cute animals.

Doors Open – BBC One (9.00pm)
In this new drama a businessman, an art expert and a banker plan to rip-off one of Scotland’s most high-profile targets.

The Full Monty – TG4 (10.55pm)
A group of unemployed men decide to make a bit of money by taking off all of their clothes but first they have to learn how to dance. Robert Carlyle stars.
