May the feels be with you...

This is AMAZING.

After exhausting every option, Derry native Jamie Harkin was finally able to meet his hero: Luke Skywalker.

Seventeen-year-old Jamie Harkin was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4B twice when he was 12 and when he was 15 years-old and since, made it his mission to meet his favourite Star Wars character, Luke Skywalker.

Since being diagnosed, the teenager set up Jamie’s Journie, a Facebook page dedicated to helping sick teens and young people deal with their cancer diagnosis. What a sound lad.

jamieAfter finding out that Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver were nearby filming for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIII film in Ireland, Harkin started a campaign in an attempt to meet some of the cast.

Finally, on Monday, Harkin shared breakfast with Hamill.

“I’m definitely still in shock, I’m absolutely elated, incredibly humbled, honoured and just completely overwhelmed,” Harkin wrote on Facebook.

Hamill stayed with the teen as well as some other kids for more than an hour-and-a-half. Harkin says that the two discussed everything from old stories, to what he’s been up to recently.

Incredible!
