Ireland’s Ceire Smith has bowed out of the European Games at Baku today following a defeat in the flyweight quarter-finals.
The Cavan boxer was beaten by Russia’s Saiana Sagataeva on a split decision in what was a tough and evenly-matched contest.
The judges gave victory to the Russian on the narrowest of margins spelling the end of Smith’s run in the competition.
