Frightening.

A doctor in New Zealand has aplogised after he “completely forgot” to tell a patient she may have breast cancer.

According to the Guardian, the woman in question had gone to the doctor complaining of a pain in her shoulder.

The doctor then ordered an X-ray to find out what the issue was. According to reports, the X-Ray yielded results that claimed the tendon tear was “highly suggestive of metastasis” or the spread of cancer.

The GP saw the woman in question following the news of the X-Ray but failed to tell her about the possibility of metastasis, despite the fact that he knew the woman in question was a cancer survivor.

She returned when the pain persisted and the doctor referred her to an orthopaedic surgeon.

The woman was later diagnosed when she changed doctor and despite years of treatment, she lost her battle against the disease and passed away.

The GP in question is being referred to the Director of Proceedings for possible legal action, according to the Guardian.
