Donal Skehan’s family portrait went badly wrong and we’re in bits

This is the funniest thing you'll see today.

Donal Skehan's family portrait

You couldn’t write it.

As family portraits go, Donal Skehan’s effort is probably the funniest we’ve seen in a very long time. In fact, it’s possibly the best ever.

Although we imagine his father Dermot didn’t see the funny side at the time…when the family’s pet dog Max somehow managed to bite him in the crotch.

Yes, that actually happened and the photo evidence is there to prove it.

According to Donal’s Instagram post, he was holidaying with his parents Liz and Dermot when they decided that San Francisco’s picture-perfect Victorian houses, aka the ‘Painted Ladies’, provided the perfect backdrop for a family photo.

They got into it too, jumping for joy in the standard social media pose but unfortunately for Dermot, Max got a little overexcited.

Donal said that Max loves his dad more than anything and this might explain how this particular photo op unfolded.

As the TV chef puts it:

“One of those perfect moments where the camera and timing works out just right!!! Puts a whole new meaning on “crotch shot!”

Earlier this year, the 31-year-old and his wife Sofie announced they were expecting a baby, here’s hoping this brings lots more fantastic Instagram snaps!
