Downton Abbey Actors Left “Flopping” After Being Forced to Wear Historically Accurate Underwear…

We feel for the poor men of Downton Abbey. Why? Well apparently they were left “flopping and dangling all over the place” recently when they were forced to wear historically accurate underwear on set. Eh…yeah…

The Irish Sun reports that the male members of the cast were banned from wearing modern boxers and briefs while they were filming a cricket match for the period series, just in case their undies showed through their white trousers.

But rather than get their panties in a twist (hah! see what we did there?) the actors cracked bawdy jokes that left the rest of the cast and crew in stitches of laughter.

“The bosses reckoned viewers might be able to see our Calvin Kleins, so we had to wear these big pants,” said David Robb, the man who plays Dr Clarkson in the drama series.

“But they don’t really contain a chap – you just flop and dangle around all over the place – and the boys’ jokes were flying, as you can imagine,” he added.

At least they had a sense of humour about it all though, right? Apparently the boys thought the entire thing was so hilarious, that they had to fight to maintain their composure. Men, right?

“I don’t think the viewers will really be able to see anything but I’m not sure,” said David.

“The cricket match was hilarious. We didn’t really know what we were doing but had great fun,” he added.

The cricket match, which the boys were filming, is set to be shown in the final episode of the new series – so if you see any of the actors wearing a cheeky grin, you’ll know that they’re wearing a pair of baggy old underpants.
