Dublin Fire Brigade share aerosol cans, mirrors, and glass heat warning

Jade Hayden

Don’t be leaving them lying around, lads.

It’s pretty hot outside, in case you didn’t know.

And it being this shockingly hot means a lot of different things.

First, it means that most people are delighted by how hot it is. Second, it means that people are absolutely not taking care of themselves because of how hot it is.

Not only are a load of us refusing to wear suncream and drink enough water (come on lads, hydrate yourselves), but a lot of people are also going to make the mistake of leaving mirrors, glass, and aerosol cans in places they shouldn’t them.

Most notably by windows where they can explode in the heat.

Yes, really.

Dublin Fire Brigade shared a warning today, asking everyone to please make sure they don’t leave any mirrors, crystal, or glasses on windowsills because they could shatter if the sun reflects onto a flammable surface.

They also warned that aerosol can explode too and shared a video of a fire caused by a vanity mirror that was left on a windowsill.

DFB said that all such items should be left in the shade at all times and that people should be mindful that the sun moves during the day.
